The dialog on this piece was spot on and flowed really well.

Lots of magic (I’m guessing) and such that I didn’t entirely follow, but the interaction and feeling came through nicely. Well done.

What is her name, Anat or Kyetha??? I think you mean for kyetha to be a title, but it is very unclear.
I read the whole series, but I am still not sure what is going on. There is a mission, it involves killing, and he is telling her not to go. Other than that, they live in a kingdom. :)
I must say that other than their constant mentioning of each other’s names (which is unfortunately necessary in this small space), you have great details and a strong command of dialogue. (Century tree, dolls, and gravel on the rooftops)

Anat is her name, and ‘kyetha’ (along with ‘roahnas’) was my subtle-and obviously failed- attempt at establishing that this was not Earth. Or, an Earth from an universe far removed from our own. ‘Kyetha’ is a term of endearment, used in close, long-term friendships.

And I’ll be frank, while I was employing a bit if self-deprecating humor, I was being truthful with the “I have no idea what I’m doing” tag, so if you don’t know what’s going on, it’s okay, neither do I! I decided to challenge myself one night and just write whatever came to mind without stopping, and that’s how the first story came about. I never really meant for it to be anything more, and then Maggie surprised me with adding onto the story, changing what vague idea I’d had for the story (two childhood friend heroes setting out to save the world and hopefully not die in the process) into something new and probably more interesting.

So I sit and write whatever comes to mind, and hope it entertains.
