Schizophrenic? I really like the subtle statement you make about the condition of us humans, but the structure is hard to follow. A first person narrative that has two voices makes me think, multiple personality or quotation mark discrepancy. Yeah, me too! []o)

Oh, I get it now. Man, that dude is long winded, don’t you think? It’s no wonder his friend is on the cellphone, the guys talking his ear off! He’s trying to politely dismiss himself. I imagine him repeatedly holding up his finger, motioning “one moment” while the guy goes on, and on. []o) I had a friend like that once, he even talked in his sleep!

The first paragraph is practically one huge run-on sentence, but in context it actually works. I like your take on paranoia and conspiracy theory.

What I like most about this is that if it’s set in today, it’s great social commentary.
If it’s set, say….fifty years ago, it’s Science Fiction.
