Green

Thirsty. So thirsty.

The sun weighs heavily on me and too much water is lost due to its harsh rays. I drink as much as I can, but not enough, not nearly enough as heat saps my strength, my arms growing steadily weaker as the day grows.

At the hottest moment of the day, water runs out. I try to get a few last droplets, but it’s all gone and my weary limbs begin to collapse. Sensing my weakness, my enemies attack and slowly destroy what they couldn’t even touch when I was strong.

As the day cools some of my strength returns, but not much. Suddenly, my sick limbs are savagely hacked, falling away helplessly. Then, water! So much of it, almost too much! I gorge myself on it and am now whole again, able to grow new limbs.
