Hiroshi stepped forward so that he was directly infront of Kino.

“Sorry about hitting you on the head, I did try to be more subtle about it and tried to drug you with that tea. But you had to refuse it didn’t you?”

“Why are you doing this?” Kino said in a calm voice

“Young girl, you shall be our sacrifice. What you are doing will help many people”

“I don’t think I like the idea of being sacrificed” Kino replied

“You have no choice. We have no other options”

“Why is that? And why do you need a sacrifice in the first place?”

“For god of course” He shouted excitedly. “Every year we sacrifice someone to our God to keep him happy, this town has been doing it for centuries and will continue to do it, if we don’t God will be angry, our crops will not grow, and we will die of famine and disease”

He continued “When you came you were like a blessing, you see every year the villagers get scared, no-one knows who it’s going to be. And people start getting restless”
