“Our men are everywhere. We own this building. It’s only a matter of time until you are caught.” Barbara flinched as Jacqueline adjusted her hold on the knife. “No wait- don’t!”
“I don’t want to hurt you, Barbara, but if your people find me, then you’ll be the first to die. I won’t hesitate to slit that pretty little throat before fighting my way out. If you know anything about me, then you know that I’ve killed before. Right now you are an inconvenience- don’t become a liability.”
“Fine, he’s in the Penthouse.” Barbara pouted. “But I don’t believe you about Daddy, he-”
“Shut it. You can hear the truth when we get to the top. If your family owns this place then you probably have a private elevator.”
Jacqueline leaned close. “You and I are going to take a little walk. If you call for help, you die. If you try to run, you die. If you do anything other than get me to the top, you die. Am I making myself perfectly clear?”
Barbara craned her head back and made a face. “You made it here and you were drunk?”
