Measure for Measure

Ramar looked up at his student with disdain. “You were going to blackmail me into giving up my greatest accomplishment to you? A student that didn’t even bother to finish his studies?”

“I have great need-”

I don’t care! You don’t deserve it! Do you know how long it took me? I studied, meditated, and practiced for seven years, before I was ready to begin developing it.” Ramar said. “What have you done?”

“I have done enough.” Jhendayre said coolly.

“Examples! Give me facts- give me some reason why I shouldn’t just banish you and tell you to never return.” Ramar demanded.

“I defeated the Red Hand at Rivenroar which led me to the hyena warriors and their flesh demons. Now my friends and I intend to head into the troll warrens to slay the immortal king of the trolls before he lays Moonstair to waste. We’ve already turned back one such incursion.”

“What friends? You never had any friends.”

“I do now.”

“Pfff. Then where are they?”

“They wait for me to rejoin them. They are ready. I am not. Yet.”
