Deep Science, part 1
Somewhere in northern Michigan, there is rampant chaos. Men are fighting.
“What are they?!” one yells, as electricity shoots overhead.
“I have no idea! They just keep coming out of that mine!” yells another. A scream is heard off in the distance, a man succumbing to a psychic attack.
They keep fighting, bullets spewing from their entrenchment, but the monsters keep coming, attacking.
One of the defenders looks over, and notices a man in a white lab coat. He looks like, well, like he belongs in a lab. He is making his way to the fortifications, as quickly as a man accustomed to tile floors and elevators can. As the fighter looks in shock, the lab man steps up to the edge, pulls something out of his pocket, and throws it at a monster running at him, four arms swinging. It disappears in a flash of light, and the ball falls to the ground.
As more monsters swarm out of the hole, the scientist says just one thing.
“Now how am I going to get it back? I need to see if I can get it back out.”
