I really liked this!! …incredibly poetic, and the images were stunning to imagine as i read it silently to myself. Inspiration? Not that it’s a bad thing, but it hardly comes across as spontaneous. I wonder, what was your level of effort that poured into this? Can I write a sequel? I’m thinking of the tentative title, “Milking the Moon.” =)
My partner came home from his writing class very frustrated. His professor asked the class to write a short story/poem using Imagery. So I wrote this to show him what I thought she meant.
And your comment actually threw me into a tailspin. I used to write stuff like this in Junior high. I was accused of plagiarism. My mom had a fit, because she would watch me sit down and write cards with poems to people, so she complained. The principle told my teacher he would have to find the original to call it that. But I was teased and marked like a thief, so I quit writing.
So it’s 33 years later, and now…this. Hum, maybe it means I’m really am a very good writer if I can spit something like this out in 15 minutes, tops.
These, in fact are easy for me, I do spent a lot of time on my stories, especially the sequels.
My feelings aren’t hurt, it’s just your perspective.
Now I can practically feel the spontaneity in this. I personally end up with the best imagery in those situations, which is what this looks like. I would well done. And I would love to see more like this.
