bring back the good old fashioned snail-mail! I really ought to write letters more. they have more potency than a text or even a phone call sometimes. very fond of the concept. I just wish letters were sent more often nowadays.
There’s such romance in being linked by ink, awaiting a letter. The first paragraph is very sweet and particularly well written. I like the rhetorical questions, the combo of second person and present tense. Nice job.
Thank you for all your comments^^ I’m actually a bit surprised by the piece generating such positive responses (In terms of feelings it conjures, not the critique). For me, this was about uncertainty, and having lost someone who suddenly reappears. I didn’t even notice I had ended optimistically^^’ So thank you all, for making me read my story differently.
