I had to reread it several times before I could get all the pieces to fit in my head. Even though it doesn’t really make much sense contextually, I like how “That one night I took the night by storm and she wasn’t around.” sounded. I had a real problem with the last line. It’s a good ending but is a bit too ambivalent to pack the punch it obviously wants to carry, you know? It’s probably because I never knew that “I” was depressed or hated her friend or something. “still living not dying fighting the good fight.” What does that mean? Otherwise, nice job.
