The Flash 2

. A voice came on over the PA, “This is not a drill. Everyone must duck and cover!” I started to back up, wide-eyed against the wall furthest from the windows. I felt a large pulse in my body; my heart skipped a beat. I coughed ferociously and heard a louder rumbling. The windows shattered and flew across the room. I ducked. I felt a shard slice my face and the trickle of blood afterwards. I wiped it off and stood up once again.
It was then that the flash came. It was bright; brighter than the sun, and my sight was littered with dots of purple and green. I felt the walls falling and crumbling on the other side of the building. I was knocked in the head by a piece of flying debris and my eyes closed just as I felt the heat wave on my melting skin.
