Huh? I am sorry but I don’t get this at all. I don’t see how this relates to the prequel.

Is someone transforming into something else? Or is it just the mechanics of someone running?

it’s poetic, but a little too fun for the desperate scene. Also, the last paragraph is a string of words, distracting, but i bet you were hindered by character count to space them out and make them behave.

Definitely takes the little ‘Inspired by…’ tag to its loosest, being more a topical exploration than a story continuation. That’s fine, as far as I’m concerned.

That last big paragraph, about the fungus. Yeah, that one got kind of weird, really from start to finish. The sentence construction on the one that start, “Great mycelial salads…” made for a hard read as well, though I have to give you bonus points for vocabulary use.

A fun, albeit loose, rambling affair with some amusing imagery.
