Oh. My. Head.

That was wonderful – subtly executed. A lot left up to the reader’s imagination, which is (in my opinion) the most impactful kind of horror. The unknown is often the worst.

At first, I placed Carly’s at an older age too – but realized this probably isn’t the case after rereading. Excellent work!

Nicely done with almost purely dialog. I think you might have even been able to do it without the bit of exposition in the beginning. The ending added a bit of fear and gore to it as well.

I think the beginning was just for me to get into the scene. :)

This works great if it’s written/read like a play.
