Odd moment. I didn’t quite get the feel for the piece, probably just the mismatch of the seriousness with the absurdity of the paper comment. Maybe you didn’t mean it that way, but that’s how I read it, like a bit of comedy in the middle of a serious situation. Writing is otherwise pretty solid though.

This … confused me. Probably because the first paragraph put 9/11 in my head and I couldn’t shake it from the rest.

I thought the description was actually pretty good – created a nice picture (especially the subtle little similie).
