Not sure why I felt compelled to write this, but there you go.

Nice twist! I like someone stepping in to save her. Now, we might kill them both, just to guarantee that the gods are happy, and the harvest plentiful.

The one bit I having a hard time figuring out is who is volunteering, and who threw the stone at Heston? The best i can tell, the “Lanky Fellow” is the one trying to intervene.

Oops, I was afraid that would get muddled. The lanky guy is throwing the second toss, but Heston jumped forward, getting hit in the process. Not sure how to clean that up.

There’s an incredibly graceful atmosphere to this piece and the descriptions of gore in particular are fluid, beautiful…

I picked up that it was Heston who got hit, but had no idea he was OVER her until afterwards. I thought the lanky guy had terrible aim!
So, will there be more ‘heroes’ one for each stonee who steps forward, or will Heston be brutally beaten? Who will survive? Only sequels will tell. :)
