Lovely set of poems, disparate themes but all centering around contradictions and alternate possibilities. Very nicely done.

Ooh, I like. I especially like imagining Obama as a banana. Because it does seem like a lot of his awesomeness is based on being the first black president.

The rhyme scheme makes me smile. My favourite verse is the last.

There’s a playful, childlike quality to the vocabulary and rhyme scheme, and yet there’s a kind of deep-seated cynicism/skepticism behind the words that plays out beautifully. The contrast between these two creates a powerful effect. A wonderful piece, all in all.
