They were in a bad marriage. Punches were thrown and there was no retaliation. Hit after hit was received, and none were dealt back. Counsellors were talked to, and they all said the same. “Don’t assign blame,” they say. People who see their fights don’t bat an eye. A police officer saw them and did nothing.
Finally, he ended the relationship. He filed for divorce. The jury sympathized with her. She got the kids.
He kept the bruises.
