I know the woman can be the abuser, but it’s less heard about. I like how you don’t know who the abuser is until the end, but one would mostly assume the woman is. Of course, I’m not stereo typing men at all to say they are always the ones to abuse instead of being abused. Either way, however anyone interprets what I’ve said thus far in my ranting, I like how this is written. I mean, it’s short, but I think something like this is okay to remain short and how you sort of summed up the whole thing and from start to end essentially is well worded. I don’t feel like much is missing so it sort of has the whole less is more sort of vibe for myself.
Actually, abused men are as common as abused women only they tend to get less support and are often embarassed to get help because it makes them feel weak.
Anyhoo…I also liked how you kept it back that he was the abused one, although I guessed it from the beginning.
Double l in counselLor…
Yeah, it’s short, and I like it that way. The bluntness kinda reflects how the whole situation is viewed: with cold detachment.
Generally, I thought the expression is ‘bat an eye LID’ … so I was interested to see your version. Could have done with a little line separation but I liked it. Abby x
Nice twist ending to this one. Abused husbands don’t get a whole lot of sympathy. Great job, and we’ve learned that Abby Wall is English and that Burner of Notes is American. Even though I kind of new the second one already.
