Tragic twisted tale, but nicely told. It all holds together, even with the flashback stuff. There was one sentence that felt overly long, the one about the 30 acres. I don’t think it’s a run-on, just felt long, totally subjectively. I liked the visual of this gruff, hardened social worker sprinting out of the house with a sick baby in his arms. That worked really well.
