After waking up and carefully avoiding her family (“The Robots”, she calls them), Haylie headed off to her favorite place in all of Metropolis; the Library. The only place she can let her feelings and thoughts flow freely.
She walked straight to the history section, picking up a book about all sorts of vehicles; planes, cars, and trains(which have always fascinated her).
She was too immersed in her reading att first to notice someone staring at her. She noticed, and looked up, startled.
“Who are you?” She asked the boy. He was tan, with light hair and dark eyes. He was wearing a full-body suit, the kind you wear when you travel, or work up in the windmills. It allows for complete free movement and protection, and has various gadgets built in.
“I see you come here often. Interested in cars?”
“You didn’t answer my question.”
“My name’s Jack. Yours?”
She contemplated whether or not to tell him.
“Haylie.”
“Nice to meet you.”
“Um.. You too.”
Have I ever seen him around before? She thought, I don’t think so..
