Four
On April 4, Adam Shaw trotted lightly down the four steps off his porch and turned left, walking towards the corner of 44th and Quartet streets. At the corner, he ducked into the Four Corner Market where he bought coffee, orange juice, and two donuts for $4.44.
Leaving the market, he went back the way he had come, walking by four houses before passing in front of his own, 44 44th Street. As he walked past, he glanced up at the four tomato plants growing in the window of apartment #4d, his own.
Four blocks later, as he stepped off the curb, he was struck and tragically killed by the number 4 bus.
