Oh man killer entry!!! When does this movie come out? I love the connection between the two “identities” and the similarities in description. Really good piece here.

I like this a lot. I get it. I am confused by the opening line and this sentence:

You are writing about two “types” of humans, identifying what kind the first is would alleviate the confusion of “you” and “your”, “I” and “we”.

Natural humans would be good, or something along those lines.

I like the idea, though it’s all exposition. Might have been more fun to try and weave all this information into some action or dialog. Solid writing all the same though.

@ 32 squared — By having the narrator refer the everyone else as humans, it implies that while there are similarities between them, he and those he associates with are not generically identifiable with humans due to their respective differences.

@ THX — I would approach it as you suggested, but I don’t think the Ficly template would be conducive enough.
Right now, I’m planning a series of journal-style entries whose authorship alternates between the two protagonists. I think most people begin journaling by writing a brief explanation of their life up to the present so as to provide context for future entries. This piece is that explanation. The sequels will be more focused on specific events, conversations, or enumerations of the past.
