Ficly

Safe Zone.

I’m trembling here,
Here in the safe zone
Where nothing but time can touch me.
It passes slowly,
Countless moments of regret.
But I am warm, soft, and cozy.
I look across the empty space,
Brazen as the broad sun.
And I ponder my life without you.
One simple action
Could change all that.
An action I’m not strong enough to do.
Is going on in your absence
A journey I can bear?
It’s been excruciating until right now.
Can the pain blossom and spread,
Like the sun revealing what’s hidden in a shadow?
Is that something I’m willing to allow?

Too many unanswered questions,
Too little courage to try.
Don’t you see how weak I’ve become?

My only strength is you.
