The Little Things In Life

Savoring papercuts on still nights with slow-toned music and soft lights. Reading.
Moments seem to stretch and shrink, as I work around my kitchen sink. Cooking.
Extending heart and soul and fingertips, rapidly trading electronic blips. Chatting.
Presumably, things will get easier by the time I finish this glass. Drinking.
Nothing has gotten much easier, but this may make a difference. Smoking.
Whether a new one or a rerun, I’ve waited too long for this. TV Absorbing.
On paper or online, words are my weapons and stories my friends. Writing.
Though I let my consciousness fade to black I still wish for control. Sleeping.
