The last line makes the story. I prefer this story by itself, without taking the prequel into consideration. I liked them both, but they work best alone. That’s one of the strengths of Ficly, I think, and one of the strengths of this story. Well done.
Yeah, I’m kind of in a self challenge. I’ve been waiting for a story that was still a great story by itself, but ambiguous too, one that could have multiple scenarios. I’m having a blast.
