Tears. My mom passed away on February 15th, 2011 from cirrhosis of the liver. Basically, she drank herself to death, it was horrible to watch. On my side-table, in my room, sits her one year anniversary token. It was the best year of my adult life with her, and I have to be thankful for that. Excellent Ficly, I’ve sat in many church basements, during open meetings, exactly as you describe yours; supporting my mother. (remove the “to” or “into” after “down”) And, congratulations Saul. Keep coming back, it works!

wonderfully vivid imagery and a powerful final line. i love it.
Sobriety is a gift you give yourself and those who love you. In this case, giving is better than receiving!
Powerful and well written! The story draws us in.
