Hindsight

Madeline, a tall, athletic girl, walked home from school one day, seeing her older sister sitting outside a restaurant with a group of friends. She smiled and walked over, as she was greeted with a smile and a hug. The smell of magnolia flower perfume filled the air, as she would spray her sisters perfume before leaving to school in the mornings. Though they lived together they rarely seen each other. Since her sister graduated high school, she began to work, as she spent all her money for college traveling to Europe for three years. With different schedules it seemed these chance meetings were slim to none but they happened on occasion. Madeline was over taking city transit, preferring to just to walk home. Seemed these days, home was just a huge black hole, waiting to swallow up every ounce of joy and innocence. This routine grew daily, allowing her to gather her thoughts before getting home and dealing with all the bickering that tended to happen more and more, as her father began to drink his life away.
