You should use " rather than ’ as " are speech marks (like quotations, history geek :P) and ’ are apostrophes. Fun with grammar!

I love it. The horrible knowledge of knowing your impending death is a shock to the system. I’d hate to end up with something like this. Memories so long lost. Just the thought makes me shiver.
