Eric, this is fantastic, one of the best suspenseful stories I’ve read on this site.

You managed to create a suffocation in 3d, I needed a breath after reading it, I held my breath waiting to find out where they are and what their relationships are.

Nice way to dangle the bait for more.

Cool situation and very intense. I wasn’t sure it was him talking for the second bit until the end, so maybe some way of tipping that? Style point really, not absolute. Strong piece in tone and ambiance.

second and third sentences repeat ‘stayed’ when that word is unnecessary to begin with. I think you can rephrase these.
Until the last line, I hadn’t pictured him as exuding charm. However with the ficly limitations, this can easily be overlooked. :)
I think this is a fabulous scene, full of questions, tension, and good characterization.

32^2, I liked your idea as this being the sequel to Burning Bridges so I modified it slightly and ran with it.

Its sort of funny cuz I wrote it in that chronological order initially.
