The implication that lovers would knowingly caress under a sentient tree is vaguely disturbing… I do find it quite interesting that they can tell lies simply by reading the rings though. Either that, or this is a scenario in which that method has been fabricated to rationalize destruction of tress. Whichever way, it’s food for thought.

to be honest, it kinda reminds me of alice in wonderland, what with the queen falsley accusing everybody and everything being personified. that being said, its not a bad thing good job

Nicely written, and I like the idea of the poor tree accused and harassed for a natural occurance. That feels allegorical, even if I can’t immediately put my finger on what it might relate to. I suppose it could relate to a lot of things.

Slipped into past tense in the middle paragraph, but otherwise seemed solid.
