Might want to check the italics formatting for ‘shh’ in the third paragraph. Also, I’m not sure how well the term ‘haint’ fits in to the cultural context, as the term’s origins originated (according to Wikipedia) in the southern U.S.

Otherwise, keep up the good writing. I’m interested in how a child with subconscious mind control capabilities will fit into the landscape of a brothel/assassin clan.

I do love the shadows in this story line. What’s really going on with the child, and why did Mother Rose allow her to be sold. I’m looking forward to seeing more of this. :)
