Certainly a very intriguing way to introduce some new characters to this story. Though I’m still a little confused as to what they are, but that might just be me being dense. I am waiting for someone to introduce what actually HAPPENED though. Kind of excited to see what strange event it’s gonna be. And stories like these make me wish I could write better.
@Night, I agree with you. But for some strange reason, I didn’t want to be the writer to write that story. I’m also enjoying the mystery. Plus, I don’t know how to write the transition from him being confused to suddenly remembering everything. This was just a side piece, I’ll probably write more sequels to the same story, I’m having fun with the possibilities.
You write great poetry, maybe the protagonist finds a poem hidden in his shoe or something?
“High above the valley atop a plateau, dangles a sad shack, like a prayer on Satan’s lip.”
After a starting line like that, it almost seems a shame to have to continue the story, but you carry on the tone expertly.
I think the best hint we have so far is the title of the preceding story: Flight 2501. The reference to the dust-devil in this story opens up some interesting possibilities there.
