Somebody That I Used To Know
I was walking down the sidewalk
Of a street that I knew so well
Each crack was so familiar
Each step was half-carefully planted
To avoid landing a foot on the crevices
How it came to be a habit, I don’t know.
I looked up and saw a face
Of somebody that I used to know
Each feature was so familiar
Each glance was half-carefully thrown
To avoid getting caught in the pain of those eyes
How we came to be strangers again, I don’t know.
