I knew just from reading the title that this would be good. (It’s an amazing title =) ) Great job capturing all the emotion of the moment – especially the excitement and fear. You set the scene immediately and perfectly in that very first paragraph.

“spun in the saltwater river like a transparent snake” is a really great line.
