I thought the ending was a clever turn, that he’ll have company soon enough. The third paragraph is a tricky read, maybe could use a clean up. Otherwise, an effective voice for the radio you’ve crafted here.

i didn’t think the third paragraph was incongruous, but i have a less finicky eye than others. like the tone.
