Interesting to see where you took the story, my friend thought that maybe he was a transvestite. I love the fact that the clown is just as inconsiderate to others as he is to himself.

I really like – “Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more”
That’s just something you don’t hear very often, certainly not from a clown. Excellent work, as always.

‘A young man goes to see his doctor. He is overcome by a terrible sadness and doesn’t think anything will make him feel better.

’The doctor says, “Why not do something happy, like going to see Grimaldi the clown?”.

’The young man answers, with a knowing look, “Ah, but Doctor”, he says, “I am Grimaldi.” ’

Clowns are always such interesting characters to write – constantly smiling but crying inside. It’s become something of a stereotype but I like the fact that he once enjoyed it. I liked the last line too – really good work.

I feel bad that that is his lifestyle especially because obviously he’s not happy with how he’s chosen to live his life but perhaps circumstances complicate things to have it stay how it is.
