Ah, so he’s not so bad after all, which feels like a bit of a cheat back from the brink that Ben Adams drove it to. It still works, I think, and continues to paint him as a guy on a desperate mission doing whatever he can to get to the next step. Fun and exciting stuff and ripe for the next sequel.
I liked this chapter but I just feel like Tom is changing too much between chapters. At first he seems bumbling and in need of help, then when he comes to the campfire, he seems like he actually had a plan so I rolled with it but then with this one, he once again seems not to know what he’s doing. He just seems to flip flop from knowing what he’s doing to being a bumbling fool and for me, doesn’t feel believable. It may be my fault for throwing in the backstab in the last chapter. Anyways, I enjoyed the read.
