Definitely a scar situation. That first paragraph ends in a run-on, and I’m not sure about the “too” at the very end there. Can definitely feel the concern and worry from the narrator though, so that came through nicely. Course, it doesn’t hurt that I’ve worked with enough special needs individuals to know that worry all too well.
The moment where kids are screaming, not out of terror, but out of the need to do something, feels very rule and I was immediately taken back to grade/high school where such antics were common.
