Pain

Dearest reader, have you ever thought that you knew someone so completely that you could trust them with your soul? have you ever felt that every fibre of your being would be safe in their hands? has it ever been the case that you genuinely ceased to exist independantly, simply so that you could share a life with someone else, dearer to you than all other things?

if the answer is yes, then I congratulate you. it is a fine feeling, complete in its intoxicating appeal and utterly exhilirating. now, however, is another question;

Have you ever felt that trust snap?

trust, that most pure of sentiments, is doubly bitter when it is destroyed. if and when that one person to whom you have entrusted your heart walks out of the door, leaving your soul in a tattered and lonely pile on your porch step, then every finely tuned detail of life crumbles. art becomes two dimensional. food becomes ash. cliches prove true. life ceases.

Dearest reader; be sure, when you trust.
Time makes a mockery of us all.
