Ficlets are strange because they are so short. When there are bits you want the reader to know, sometimes it’s tough to get them in there without them feeling out of place. Thanks for the comment!

I liked it. The second paragraph makes sense to me, sheds light on ‘what happened’, even if just a flicker.
