Love the back and forth dialogue, and the quality of your characterization. The downward spiral is morbidly enjoyable, from smoking clown to angry clown to homicidal clown.
But the thing that disturbs me the most is the child, who has the presence of mind to threaten Chuckles with his mothers paycheck.

brilliantly real. love the mental image of Chuckles waddling towards the car, all serious, but still in clown shoes. :)

The clown is funny, but the child is a little too mature for 10.

I agree. This is exactly why I hate clowns. I’ve had nightmares like this!

Very poignant picture of Chuckles. The dialogue is perfect – for both characters. And I don’t think that the kid’s too mature. A little git maybe. But not too mature.

“I know where you live and have seen where you sleep.”
So scary!
