That actually reminds me. #3 I think came from the movie ‘Identity’. The line from that 2003 movie is “As I was going up the stairs, I met a man who wasn’t there. He wasn’t there again today. I wish, I wish he’d go away.” I guess it must have stuck with me. I didn’t remember that until you put it poem form.
I like #1. It would need a little work to illustrate where the transition from child to uncaring mother occurs. I imagine it could be something to the effect of an uncared-for-child becomes an uncaring-mother – or something along those lines.
