One of the greatest things I love about reading is meeting average characters that go through a life-changing self realization. and this story does just that. also, I completely agree with Christina about the laughter line being powerful and moving. One thing (and this is my personal opinion, not fact) is that the last line is completely unneeded and IMHO detracts from the laughter line. I don’t think narrator needed a “redemption” epiphany

I dunno, I like the line about the awkward hour, however, it may have been stronger if she just walked out instead of remained in the awkward hour.
