“When will daddy be home?”

“I don’t know. He has to work in the mines again, sweets.”

“But I’m hungry! And I miss daddy…”

“He’ll be home. Don’t worry.”

However, that wasn’t true. Millicent had left his work at the mines early that day. He decided to sneak into the humans home and take back food fro his family. They did have to eat, after all.

But he was just an ant.

And that had been a human.

And Daddy never came home.
