I would encourage you not to go overboard on one end of the political spectrum, unless it feeds into the overall plot or is a significant part of the main character’s personality. You run the risk of losing readers when you rail on, and possibly misrepresent, their political views. That goes for religion, as well. I personally am fairly generous on stories that have an ingrained political or religious (more often anti-religious) bent, but I usually prefer at least one character to advocate opposing views with some degree of intelligence. If you are describing a fictional future where these events are truly representative of the direction the world has gone, then please ignore this line of criticism. Have you seen the movie “Idiocracy”? :) Other than that, it’s pretty difficult to see where this novel is going from these ficlets, so I can’t really rate it quite yet.
