The Voice

There is something about that voice that is electrifying
Something mysterious, unknown, & undying
A smile so devious that goes with this voice
It makes my heart stutter without choice

An ecstatic grin creeps onto my face
When I hear its vibrant spring and cat-like grace
The voice charges into my head making all other thoughts flee
Every single time, it makes me dizzy and weak at the knee

Each word’s a hypnotizing symphony in my brain
Its contagious laugh as wonderful as an overdue-rain
The voice’s speech is so strangely full of meaning
Even its jokes send me over the edge, careening

I hungrily hang onto every breath
A week without it would be worse than death
Could I give you a valid or scientific explanation? Nope
But I’m happily drowning in it, giddily tangled in it, as with rope

Many others have heard it and treat it as any other though
Maybe I should too but my fingers can’t seem to let it go
If only, if only I could save it, hide it, bottle it up
So I could hear it and start floating up and up and up
