This is an insightful observation, Mr. Quick. Most of us see the dolled up burger joint girl as out of place, maybe even out of touch with reality. Really though, she’s doing what makes her feel good about herself. Or is it ‘her self’?( MS Word’s spell check says “no”, one word.) Also the word ‘smearing’ seems inconsistent with the positive spin you’re making. Maybe “painting” (careful application) would work better? I liked the ‘an orange collared shirt’ made ‘all the employees ugly’ as an insight into her mind; and the ‘everything else was fair game’. Funny stuff.

I also thought “smearing” was a bit out of place but i liked this a lot!
