I do like how it self consciously points at how hard it is to write everyday. And I don’t mean self conscious in a negative way. Your character shares most all of ficly nation’s worry in “But what if what I write is stupid?” I think you are relating to yourself and all of us with this concern. And it makes it fun… it’s almost like breaking the 4th wall in television. I see the character turning his face directly at the camera like he’s addressing his audience and delivering that line. It’s a good punch line.
All of your work has an element of humour, but somehow I don’t get Tad’s punch line. Honestly, I think that line is really sad. “What if what I write doesn’t represent me? What if all that I am remembered for is a heap of garbage?” It’s the last of his self that is going in those pages, and what if he just straight up fucks it up?
