War Escapees
“You have to squash the babies. Before they grow wings!” The towering soldier yelled at the steely-eyed girl.
“What did these babies ever do to you?” The 12 year old girl demanded as she cradled a six-legged, blue orphan.
“They won’t do anything until they grow up. And then they will try to murder us.” The soldier argued, showing the ugly slash-like scars on his arms.
The girl put a hand on her hip and stuck her tongue out at him before saying, “Fine. Leave me in peace so I can get on with your dirty work. And so this senseless war will stop.”
The soldier harrumphed and stalked off. The girl grinned and took a peek at the growling baby in her arms.
“And we better get you on your way.” She cooed & went behind the medical curtain past the stomper. She shoved a heavy cabinet away from the wall, uncovering a hole in the rock wall. A small, dirty face appeared out of the wall. The face belonged to her brother.
“Is the spaceship full? We have one last baby for the day.” The girl asked, handing the baby over.
