narrative poetry :)

like the slightly disoriented, but a-lot-beneath-the-surface feel to it

Hey! :D hmmm well it didn’t have a lot so I didn’t wanna make it prose :P and d’you have any narrative poetry O.o I don’t really see the difference ><

I think there’s a basic four types: still-shot poetry, stream of consciousness poetry, dramatic monologue, and narrative poetry

haha I think people who write prose tend to narrative because it’s natural :)

I like the metaphor you brought into the piece. It is hard to judge people in black or white when there are so many grey areas. :)

Yes, the mateaphors are fantastic, and the imagery is brilliant. I can see it so clearly.

I don’t like the simile at the end of the first stanza, but that’s probably just personal preference. :)

As for types of poetry, I think dividing it up into categories is silly, as they’re all intermingled with huge amounts of grey.

Or maybe things are really in black and white and I’m making up excuses for myself :(
Haha the image is supposed to give a sense of alienation, suspension, detachment… >< does it not work?

I got the detachment after the line,
And in the most devouring darkness they shimmer.
From that point on I felt it very clearly. Cutting the heart into pieces but not daring to examine it, very well done I think.
